You just got engaged! Congratulations. At this point you’re excited about booking an engagement session but you’re not quite sure where it should be. Should you chose the location? Should your photographer decide? You like the idea of an urban engagement session but you’ve always wanted to capture some moments by the beach. What do you do?

Not to worry. There are some GREAT spots in Corpus Christi that provide endless opportunities to not only spend time with the one you’ll be marrying soon, but to do it in a setting that will look great. Relax and read on about 4 great locations in Corpus Christi to consider when planning for your engagement session.

West Guth Park

This is one of those hidden gems in Corpus Christi that doesn’t get much credit. But when you first arrive here the first thing that comes to mind is WOW. The park is huge!! It has a variety of areas to choose from including an expansive view of the skyline during sunset, trees, hills and bridges. The are tons of opportunities for your photographer to great creative and capture you and your fiancé during your engagement session. If you’ve never been here then you should definitely pay a visit soon.

This place would be great if you want an area that has tons of sunlight.

This is probably one of the most popular places in the entire city of Corpus Christi for engagement sessions and portraits alike. But for good reason. Images of couples under the pier provide unique vantage points and shade from the south Texas heat. You can also get great shots of couples walking along the waters edge and don’t forget about the sand dunes which provide great storytelling shots and a chance to sit down and cuddle up.

If you’re opting for a beach vibe for your engagement session then you can’t go wrong with Bob Hall Pier.

This cozy little park is quietly tucked away on shoreline drive away from the hustle and bustle of life. This is growling to be one of my favorite spots for engagement sessions. From the view overlooking the bay to the waves crashing against the rocks that line the waters edge, ropes park is a surprisingly diverse area. You can enjoy the best of both worlds by exploring the parks top half or by taking a quick walk down an old set of stairs right to the water.

The very first time I came to this small space I knew I’d be back and it hasn’t failed me yet in providing awesome opportunities to capture a soon to be husband and wife as they celebrate their engagement.

Pay Ropes Park a visit if you’re looking for an area that offers multiple options without having to drive to the island or visit several locations.

If the thought never crossed your mind to do an in-home engagement session then I hope this might serve as some inspiration. You’ll be more relaxed as you’ll be in a space that you’re completely familiar with, the images will look and feel completely organic AND you won’t have to drive anywhere. It’s a win-win-win.

You might consider opting for an in-home engagement session if you have a new home that you moved into and would like to showcase, prefer a relaxed setting or if you and your fiancé want your everyday interactions captured such as relaxing on the couch, cuddling by the fireplace or spending time with the family pets.

Being engaged is the first step towards two people spending the rest of their lives with each other. So as you two begin to plan all of the little things that will add up to your wedding day, be sure too put some extra thought into where you’ll take your engagement photos. I hope this blog was helpful.
